internship in Sullivan county
During the summer of 2019, I worked as a Real Property Tax intern at the Sullivan County
Government Center. My internship was aimed at developing flood data for the Sullivan
County WebGIS infrastructure, so that it is accessible to the county’s Public Safety and
Emergency Management, 911 Dispatch, and the Emergency Operations Center. Overall, it
was interesting to see how GIS technologies can be used to show where flood risks occur
throughout our community. I was also able to strengthen my skills in ArcMap as well as
learn the fundamentals of ArcPro. Ultimately, for an individual who wants to work with GIS
in the future, this internship is ideal.
