Purchase is proud to celebrate our Class of 2020 and Class of 2021 graduates with a special event in your honor on Friday, September 30. Come together with friends and families for the long-awaited recognition of your accomplishments and the start of Alumni Weekend 2022.

Graduation Celebration Schedule of Events
2:30pmMingle in the Lower Lobby to reconnect with family, friends and former faculty.
Doors open to The PAC
2:45pmGather with friends for candid photos in your caps and gowns.
Graduates proceed to the Upper Lobby to sign in and line up for the processional
Doors open for guest seating in the Concert Hall
Graduates have been asked to invite no more than two (2) guests for seating at the celebration. Additional guests may be allowed when the number of participating graduates is confirmed; we will reach out directly to graduates who have RSVPd with updates about the guest count.
3:30pmGraduates will be seated on stage with friends and classmates from their graduating year.

- Graduates will be individually introduced for the traditional walk across the stage to receive a diploma cover and pose for formal photos.
- Following graduate introductions and stage walk, the big finale will be the turning of the tassel and a celebratory recessional.
- Formal remarks
Many 2021 graduates and some 2020 graduates already have a black cap and gown. Please bring your existing regalia to wear for the stage walk.
If you need to (re)order regalia, bachelor’s and master’s caps and gowns, and master’s hoods, can be ordered from and other online retailers.
Please specify black caps and gowns and order as soon as possible to allow time for guaranteed home delivery. Prices and delivery schedules vary by vendor
When you arrive to line up for the processional, Purchase College will provide heliotrope and puce tassels for your caps.
Though graduates are strongly encouraged to wear a cap and gown for the various photo opportunities and turning of the tassels, having regalia is not a requirement for participation in the celebration.
All guests will be directed to the West 1 and West 2 parking lots.
Graduate Check In
Graduates should arrive at The PAC by 2:30pm. Do not bring any bags with you to The PAC Upper Lobby as there will be no secure storage; bags and valuable items should be left with your accompanying guests.
Guest seating is available in the Concert Hall after 2:30pm on a first-come, first-served basis. Graduates have been asked to invite no more than two (2) guests for seating at the celebration.*
Photographs will be taken as graduates receive their diploma covers.
The Night of Reunions
Alumni Weekend continues with the Night of Reunions celebration in The PAC’s Upper Lobby starting at 6:30pm on Friday evening, September 30. Graduates may bring two (2) guests to this event. Separate registration required.

Health and Safety Protocols
Consistent with current New York State and CDC guidelines, Purchase College strongly recommends that graduates and guests wear a mask to any indoor event for their own protection. We also ask that any individual who is not feeling well, has any symptoms consistent with COVID-19, or has had direct contact with an individual who is positive with COVID-19 within ten days prior to the celebration not attend.
We strongly recommend that all graduates and guests take a rapid at home test the day of commencement as social distancing will be limited during the graduation celebration.
These protocols are based on current COVID-19 public health conditions and public health authority guidance and are subject to change if conditions warrant.
