Elizabeth Smith ’94
Elizabeth Smith ’94 (Sociology) is a lifelong educator and native New Yorker who has dedicated more than 20 years to serving the New York City Public Schools as a teacher. She is also a self-published author and a proud graduate of Howard University School of Social Work (MSW), Bank Street College of Education (MSEd in Childhood Education), and the Center for Integrated Teaching and Education at the College of Saint Rose (MSEd in Administration), where she additionally earned Advanced Certifications in School Building Leadership and School District Leadership.
Elizabeth lives and shares the spirit of Purchase College’s “Think Wide Open” philosophy through her work in education and beyond. Her career reflects fearless exploration, inclusivity, creativity, collaboration, and a DIY ethos rooted in service and empowerment. She is deeply committed to creating diverse, supportive environments where individuals can express themselves, grow, and lead.
Elizabeth is honored to be considered for the Alumni Association Board, where she looks forward to strengthening alumni engagement and advancing the dynamic, inclusive, and visionary legacy of Purchase College.
