More About Me
His work critiques how landscape and nature in the contemporary moment have been shaped by problematic yet culturally coveted traditions of depiction in 19th-century American landscape paintings, photographs, and the creation of the National Parks. His process begins with fieldwork in national parks and recreation areas, where he collects memories, photographs and drawings. In the studio, he contextualizes these references with primary and secondary sources, including archival documents, imagery and literature to investigate the construction of a specific place-myth.
