Matthew Immergut is an associate professor of sociology at Purchase College, SUNY. His research interests these days are new religious movements, spiritual virtuosity, and contemplative education. His recent book, is The Mind Illuminated: A Complete Meditation Guide Integrating Buddhist Wisdom and Brain Science for Greater Mindfulness.
