Waymon Arnette ’12

Waymon Arnette has played roles on television series, including Law and Order, The Following, and Elementary, and has appeared in commercials, most notably in several Bud Light campaigns.

He took a break from acting for personal reasons, but he’s recently rejoined the game, filming a series for a major streaming service due out next spring. Ten years after leaving Purchase, Arnette has just begun to understand one of Associate Professor of Acting A. Dean Irby’s powerful lessons.

“There was a lot of conversation about longevity; he instilled in us that we’ll use these tools until we’re 80 years old,” he remembers. “Dean would say, ‘One day you’ll understand the power of stillness, and then you will be unstoppable.’ I’m just now understanding what that means.”
