Demiana “Demi” Remick ’18

Demi Remick ’18 is a National YoungArts Foundation Gold Award winner in Dance (2013), one of Dance magazine’s 2014 Top-25-To-Watch, a Presidential Scholar in the Arts nominee, and a Groove master teacher and adjudicator, and a Capezio Athlete.

Remick tours worldwide as the tap dance soloist for Postmodern Jukebox, performing at venues such as the Sydney Opera House and Radio City Music Hall and was recently a featured performer in Austin McCormick’s off-Broadway production Company XIV in Brooklyn.

She is a current member of Caleb Teicher & Company, was a past member of the Bessie award-winning company Dorrance Dance, and has worked with Emmy® award-winning Jason Samuels Smith’s company A.C.G.I., and Lisa La Touche’s TapPhonics.

Remick has also worked with Emma Portner and The Flock, Bill T. Jones at the Kennedy Center, and Monica Bill Barnes and Company and recently choreographed a duet commissioned by and with American Ballet Theatre Principal dancer James Whiteside.

She is an alumnus of the Tap Program at Jacob’s Pillow, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance and the Juilliard Summer Dance Program. Remick is a certified Yoga instructor, ACE Certified Personal Trainer, Pre/Postnatal cardio/dance instructor with Body Conceptions and teaches/performs dance internationally.

At Purchase, Remick was recipient of the Junior Dance Award and performed works by Azure Barton, José Limón, Alexandra Beller, Trisha Brown, Xan Burley and Doug Varone.
