Rayna Weaver

We live under the term “African American” as a replacement title for the “Africaness” that was forcibly stripped away. This installation represents that feeling of loss and actively searching for a place and identity. It is a statement about a culture that has been founded by the efforts to rebuild after the African Diaspora.
