We’re Building a Forest!
Purchase College is launching a new forest restoration project! We’re set to plant 1,800 trees to replace invasive species on nearly three acres.
Faculty and students in the Environmental Studies BA program will transform a 2.8-acre area currently overrun by invasive plants into a thriving young forest filled with 1,800 native trees.
Most of the site will be planted, while trails and gathering spaces will remain open for students, faculty, and visitors to enjoy.
We plan to document the story of building this forest using StoryMaps created by students that showcase each phase of the project.
