Celebrate 100 years of Black History!
Explore the works and lives of well-known Black literary, performing, and visual artists, thinkers, and activists, like: Pauli Murray, Zora Neal Hurston, James Baldwin, Josephine Baker, John Lewis, Gordon Parks, Bayard Rustin, Rosa Parks, De Angelo, Ella Fitzgerald, Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis, Wu Tang Clan, Henry Louis Gates Jr., Ava Duvernay, Isaac Julian, and Spike Lee. And learn about lesser-known thought leaders and artists who broke barriers, contributed to movements for social change, and/or dedicated their lives to preserving Black stories.
The display is located in the Computer Commons on the first floor of the library. Many of the featured book titles were recently added to the library’s collection.
All items are available for checkout at the circulation desk. (Please note, items from Academic Film collection are available for an in-house 4-hour loan).
