Lab and Classroom Software Requests for Spring 2024 - Due by November 9th

CTS will be updating all campus lab and classroom teaching station computers over winter break to prepare for the spring 2024 semester. Please check with the Registrar to confirm your computer lab assignments, then use this brief survey to request software for both computer labs and smart classrooms to allow time for installation and testing. The deadline for requests for software installation - whether for free software or for ITAC provided software – or for software being purchased by your department for the spring 2024 semester - is November 9th. Late survey submissions may be accepted, but priority is given to requests received by the deadline.

ALL SOFTWARE must meet Accessibility requirements as stated in WCAG 2.0/AA standards, and that you must locate and provide a VPAT from the software vendor.

Existing software will not be automatically included when the computers are refreshed. The standard software installed on PCs and Macs in most campus public computer labs is listed below. You must specifically request the installation of additional software. CTS will notify the original requestor once the installation is completed, and we will ask that you visit the room and test the software to verify that it is working to your satisfaction before classes begin.

PC Lab Standard Software:

  • Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Browsers: Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox
  • Adobe Creative Cloud

Mac Lab Standard Software:

  • macOS
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Apple Pages, Keynote, Numbers
  • Browsers: Safari, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox
  • Adobe Creative Cloud

If you have an extensive list of software, or you need specific software in multiple locations, it may be easier for you to file a CTS Work Order or to Contact our Zoom Chat.

Room Change Requests

Please contact the Registrar’s Office at 914-251-6361, or email reg.public.mailbox@purchase.edu.

If you are assigned to teach in a classroom or lab which you have not previously used, we encourage you to schedule an appointment to meet someone from CTS in that room to review the use of equipment in that room in advance of the first day of classes. While most rooms have a standard set of services, they are all unique in some respects, and familiarizing yourself in advance is strongly recommended.
