ENV students present at the NSS Senior Symposium

The NSS Senior Research Symposium was back in person this year and the Environmental Studies department had 4 seniors present their research. 

Gianna Papantoniou, advised by Dr. Allyson Jackson started off the morning with her presentation “Urbanized house sparrows and their ability to adapt to novel situations”.

Paola Cruz, advised by Dr. George Kraemer then spoke about her research “Microplastics in the intertidal zone of Rye Beach”

Eric Beilin, advised by Dr. Allyson Jackson then spoke about his research “Microclimate variations in artificial nest boxes on Purchase College campus”

Joseph Zippelli, advised by Dr. Allyson Jackson represented ENV during the poster presentation session, with his poster “The establishment of avian nest boxes on Purchase campus”. 

The junior ENV students also attended the conference and some of the students even helped moderate the sessions. Thanks to everyone who helped make this event possible!
