Community Support Keeps The PAC Thriving

Community support is stronger than ever. This year, The Performing Arts Center saw a 56% increase in the number of gifts received as compared to last year. Although The PAC remained closed to the public for the entirety of FY 2020-2021, thanks to this outpouring of support, The PAC’s commitment to being an incubator for the arts and a welcoming community hub never wavered.

This commitment was reflected in The PAC’s virtual programming and engagement events, in the innovative ways they continued working with their K-12 partners, and in the dedication shown by The PAC staff in supporting the educational mission of Purchase College.

Through virtual programming, The PAC continued to enlighten, engage, and inspire audiences through The PAC in YOUR Living Room. This initiative included a broad range of events, recordings, discussions, and resources.

The PAC’s K-12 programs also went online, with great success. In lieu of a live performance season, the Education & Engagement Office offered a series of virtual field trips free of cost to area schools. Online performance videos, related learning materials, and supporting video links were delivered to nearly 12,000 teachers and students representing 665 classrooms in our region. The long-time practice of placing independent teaching artists in classrooms to provide arts-based lesson plans was also able to continue through StorySeekers, an innovative collaboration of The PAC, Purchase College’s Arts Management program and the Peekskill school district.
