Grammy® Nominations

Silas Brown Congratulations to Assistant Professor Silas Brown ’10 on earning two Grammy® nominations and on his work engineering two performances that have also earned nominations.

Brown was nominated twice in the category of Best Engineered Album, Classical, for his work as mastering engineer on The Metropolitan Opera’s Gershwin: Porgy and Bess and Riccardo Muti & Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Shostakovich: Symphony No. 13, ‘Babi Yar’. Brown also worked on the production and engineering of two performances that have been nominated in the category of Best Classical Instrumental Solo.


David DeJesus Further congratulations to Assistant Professor of Music David DeJesus ’04 for his work on an album that has earned two Grammy® nominations.

DeJesus plays alto sax with Arturo O’Farrill & The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra on the album Four Questions, released in April 2020. The recording earned a nomination in the category of Best Latin Jazz Album.

DeJesus was the featured soloist on the song “Baby Jack,” which has also been nominated in the category of Best Instrumental Composition, a composer’s award.
