The Library building will remain closed in Spring 2021, but Contactless Pickup, Virtual Ask a Librarian services, and access to our online resources will continue starting in January. See our COVID-19 Library Guide for more details.

Winter & Spring 2021 Library Services

The Library building will remain closed during the Spring 2021 semester, due to the continuation of remote course delivery and the COVID-19 pandemic. The closure includes all computer labs, printers, scanners, classrooms, digital audio suites, book stacks, Special Collections & Archives, etc. that are located in the Library.

However, the Library remains Open Online! You can continue to use our Virtual Ask a Librarian services(Zoom, Text, Chat, and Email reference), place requests for physical materials and interlibrary loan items through our Contactless Pickup service, and consult our many online databases, ebooks, and streaming films for your research needs.

Hours: Winter and Spring 2021

  • All library services will be suspended for the winter holiday break from December 19 through January 3.


  • Local Virtual Reference (Zoom reference, Text a Librarian, and Email) 
  • Last Day for Local Virtual Reference is Friday, December 18.
  • Local Virtual Reference resumes Monday, January 4.
  • Chat 24/7 will continue to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (staffed by a national cooperative of librarians).
  • Spring 2021 Virtual Reference Hours: Mondays-Fridays, 10am-4pm

  • Last day for Contactless Pickup is Thursday, December 17. 
  • Contactless PIckup resumes Tuesday, January 5.
  • Spring 2021 Contactless Pickup hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10am-2pm.(Note: Contactless Pickup hours are subject to change.)

  • Interlibrary Loan requests will not be processed from December 15 - January 4. Processing will resume Tuesday, January 5.

 

Course Reserves

There will be no physical Course Reserves for Spring 2021 due to the necessity of quarantining items between users. The Library has been working with faculty to acquire streaming films and ebook versionsof required texts, whenever possible.

Computer Labs

CTS maintains several campus computer labs that will be open to all students in Spring 2021, including:

  • Natural Sciences 1063 (Planetarium lab)
  • Natural Sciences 1013 (New Media lab)
  • CMFT Building MF 3033 (Center for Media, Film,and Theatre)
  • CMFT Building MF 3031 (Center for Media, Film,and Theatre)

These labs are socially distanced and equipped with printers and scanners and are available to all Purchase College students, staff, and faculty. Please contact CTS with questions about printing and scanning on campus.
