NYO Jazz is a new program brings gifted young jazz musicians from across the country together to study with and learn from world-class jazz master. It culminates in an international tour, giving young musicians the opportunity to perform as cultural ambassadors on an international stage and share a uniquely American musical genre with cultures around the world.
Catch them before they head out at this open rehearsal, which will showcase the diversity and scope of jazz music, as well as its profound ability to express the vast dynamics within American music. Line-up of guest artists TBA.

Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute brings together the brightest young music players from across the country for these intensive programs, which are free for all participants. Following a comprehensive audition process and a three-week training residency with leading professional musicians on the Purchase College campus, these remarkable teenagers embark on a tour to some of the great music capitals of the world, serving as dynamic music ambassadors.
