2021. Did I see enough bugs? Absolutely not

This is one part of the stream we went to collect bugs at. It’s very rocky with a steep-ish drop down to the actual water part of the stream. This is the place that had more bugs and more variety in the types of bugs.
There are two wolves inside of you: one likes catching bugs and the other likes looking at bugs

During October my group and I decided it would be a great idea to make our ecology project collecting bugs in and around a stream on campus. This was problematic for two reasons. One, I am deathly afraid of getting bugs in my hair and two, I am terribly clumsy. Thankfully I managed to avoid falling in the stream and having an unexpected guest make a home on top of my head. Overall, it was an interesting project. I like being able to do things outside of my normal interests.
So, the actual project. My group wanted to see what species and how many bugs we could find on and around a stream that runs through campus because there’s a fair amount of human interaction that happens. So, we waded around the stream several times and collected the friends. I think the coolest bugs we collected were this interesting white spider and a type of beetle (I’ll put pictures of them). We collected the bugs and took pictures of all of them (the best part in my opinion). We found that in the more suburban part of the stream, there were more bugs and a wider range of the different kinds of bugs. Yay us!
