Student Profile Guide
A simple guide to accessing and adding content to your student profile using the LiveWhale content management system.
How Do I Edit My Profile?
- On the Purchase homepage, scroll all the way down to the footer.
- In the third column, under “Other Resources,” select “Editor login.”
- Log in using your Purchase credentials.
- In the editor, pay attention to the following fields:
- Add/change image
- Description
- Related content (for files and/or links)
- Contact info (for email and/or phone)
- Do not fill out the class year or program fields
- Once finished, click “Save and Go To Profile” to review your work.
What Kind of Content Can I Add?
First, take a look at this example profile. It should give you an idea of the type of content you can add, including:
- Your bio/introductory text;
- Your videos from YouTube and/or Vimeo;
- Your own photo(s) in a gallery (in addition to your headshot);
- Your email address and/or phone number; and
- Links to your website and/or résumé.
Accessibility
You are responsible for making sure your content is ADA-compliant.
Files
- If you choose to upload a PDF of your résumé, you must confirm that the source Word document is accessible using Microsoft’s built-in accessibility checker.
- If the accessibility checker shows errors and/or warnings, you must correct them before uploading files to your profile.
Images
- All images you upload must have captions.
Videos
- Any video you embed or link to from YouTube/Vimeo must have closed captioning available.
Links to Websites
- If you choose to link to an outside website, you should confirm that website has no accessibility errors using the Wave tool.
Permissions/Copyright
- Only upload any files or images which you have permission to use.
