Creative Team Profiles

Stella Mahler (she/her) (Producer, Costume Designer) is a senior THP Production major. She is so excited to be producing her senior project, and even more excited for you to see it. Past credits include Angels in America (costume designer), Fred in Red (set designer), and Orlando (stage manager). She would like to thank her professors for helping and supporting her at every turn, her friends for making life worth living, her mother for being the greatest mother ever, and of course her incredible cast and crew for bringing this project to life with so much care.

 

Novalie Nguyen (She/her) (Production Stage Manager) is a junior double major in Arts Management and Theatre and Performance from Rochester, NY. Novalie has previously worked on the senior project Collective Rage as the assistant stage manager. In addition to her academic studies and theatrical endeavors, Novalie is a member of the Purchase women’s tennis team. She would like to thank her friends and family for supporting her, along with Stella, Amanda, and Rowan for all of their hard work. Enjoy the show!

Maeve Van Engen ( she/her) (1790s Titania) is a sophomore THP Acting major. She is so thrilled to be a part of this production and be able to bring this show to life. Past credits include Macbeth ( costume team), Les Misérables ( Fantine U/S), Chicago ( Mama Morton), What Remains from a Burning Home ( Young Girl). She would like to thank the cast and crew, her professors and family for all their support and encouragement. A special thank you to Stella for trusting her with this beautiful show.

Eli (they/them) is a Junior Theater and Performance Major from Saxapahaw, North Carolina. Recent credits include Geryon (Endo), Macbeth (Witch), Orlando (The Queen), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Titania). Eli is grateful to their friends and family for their undying love and support.

Eva Doyle is a senior theatre and performance major. Some of Eva’s SUNY Purchase credits include Crystal Clear, Fefu and Her Friends, College Monologues and Orlando and Geryon. Eva wants to thank her mom, dad and sister for being her biggest supporters in every way!

Owen Mc’anamon is a Legal Studies Major, and he’d like to thank his family, his beautiful girlfriend, and all his friends at Purchase and otherwise - as well as the cast and crew.

Maggie Anderson (They/Them) (Puck)Maggie is a senior from Manitou Springs, Colorado majoring in Theatre and Performance with a minor in Philosophy. Their Theatre and Performance credits include Project Journey (Actor), Homesick (producer and collaborator) and Geryon (projection designer and illustrator). They would like to thank their friends and family for all their support.

Amaya Adu is a senior Theatre and Performance major and has been acting since high school. Not only does she act but she is also a director, set designer and editor. Theatre has given her an avenue to expand her writing and social skills, and take on different roles on stage and behind the scenes. She’d like to thank her family, the THP faculty, her drama teachers at Forest Hills High School, and her mentors and friends at CreateHER NYC and Clubbed Thumb for helping her flourish and find fulfillment in this field. In college, she acted in Til Death Does Its Part in the spring of 2023, the 2024 Spring MainStage ‘Angels in America’, Collective Rage and the 2024 Fall MainStage ‘Orlando’.

Therese (Tea) Marie Rigor (any pronouns) is a third and final year theatre and performance major from Gainesville, Florida. Purchase credits include Macbeth (Banquo), Orlando (Orlando, Vita Sackville-West), Geryon (SM), The Station (Sound Designer), How to Defend Yourself (Susannah/Swing Diana, Nikki, and Mojdeh), As You Like It (Jaques), and Emily Coates’ Some Things We Know (Musician). Other credits include Little Shop of Horrors (Crystal), A Christmas Carol (Ghost of Christmas Present), And (Director), and more. Many thanks to the cast and crew, her mentors, family, and friends for their continuous support!

Amy Lune (she/her) is a senior classical composition major - who’s very excited to have written the music for this project! She’d like to thank Stella for asking her to do so - and to thank you for listening. <3

Mikayla Pimentel (They/Them)(makeup artists) , THP major. They are very excited to be working on the makeup for this project and hope that you enjoy the fun and creative looks. Molly McHugh (she/her) is a senior PWSW & Psychology student. Some of her past Purchase credits include Fred in Red, Orlando, Secrets in Smoke Filled Rooms, and Geryon. This is her first time working on a set and she hopes you all like it :)

 

Arin Deutsch (she/they) (Assistant Lighting Designer) is a junior Literature & THP Production double major. Her previous shows at Purchase include Sanctuary City (Assistant Lighting Designer) and Homesick (Sound and Projections Assistant). Working on this show has been a pleasure, and she would like to thank the crew and cast for their hard work.

 

Kaya Sandiford (she/they) (plays 1890s Titania) is a junior THP performance practice major. They’re elated to be a part of this production as they’re a fan of everything fantasy-related. This is their debut and they would love to thank their friends and family for their endless support.

Rowan Keane-Lombardo (they/ze) (Stage Manager) is a sophomore THP/Literature major. They love Shakespeare and love creative, bold theatre, so this piece was a dream come true from start to finish and they’re so proud of what this team has made. Past credits include Phaedra’s Love (here at Purchase) (tech operator), Ride The Cyclone (not the one at Purchase) (assistant director), and the Young Playwrights Festival (featured playwright). Ze’d like to thank Stella for giving hir the opportunity to be a part of this beautiful process, Amanda for being such an inspiring and amazing director and leader, and Novalie for being the best SM and mentor ze could possibly have asked for.

Carly Brennan (she/her) (Lighting Designer): Carly is so honored to have been a part of Governess of Floods! She is a Sophomore Theatre & Performance and Creative Writing double major. Her recent credits include lighting design work for The Station, Secrets in Smoke Filled Rooms, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Other credits include Young Nora inSecrets in Smoke Filled Rooms, Tom Snout in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Alex in The Haunting of Campbell House. Carly would like to thank all her family and friends for all their support, as well as the cast and crew for this show for being so welcoming and fun. Break legs!

 

Shiloh Blue (she/her) is a sound and performance artist living in Ridgewood, Queens. She is a fifth year Theatre and Performance student, and is happy to be operating the sound board alongside the delightful crew of Governess of Floods (despite not having taken a theatre class in two years). She normally spends her time playing noise music and holding her breath until she passes out.

 

Sydney Mellina (she/her) shadowed from the junior seminar, specifically with Professor William Bryant Miles. She is excited and glad that she can shadow Stella Mahler and her process of creating her show. She would like to thank Stella and her team for being kind enough to answer her questions and letting her experience the rehearsal process and the production meeting process. She hopes that The Governess of Floods is a great show and that everyone enjoys it!

Director Profile

Amanda Wenner (she/they) (Director) is a senior Arts Management major recently awarded the 2025 Jandon Business Award. She is excited to continue her time at Purchase in the Entrepreneurship in the Arts Masters program. Governess of Floods is Amanda’s debut in solo directing. Past credits at Purchase include Collective Rage (costume designer) and Fred in Red (Producer, Co-Director). Amanda would like to thank Novalie and Rowan for being an incredible SM team, Stella for inviting her onto this incredible project, her professors for encouraging her ambitions, and her partner Modesto for his unwavering support and love.
