Qaism Sonson (He/They) (Playwright/Sound Designer) is a senior Theater & Performance major with a Playwriting minor, from Brooklyn NY. His credits include: Almost Maine (Pete), Is He Dead? (Leroux), and The Beauty Of Risk (Josh). He’d like to thank his family for their never-ending support because it keeps him going. He’d also like to thank Rayna for trusting him to tell her story.
Frankie Joaquin Reyes (He/Him) (Production Stage Manager) is a sophomore Theatre and Performance major. On campus, he has credits for stage managing The Haunting Of Campbell House (2024) and Kill The Man (2023). Frankie has also been involved in films, recently Assistant Directing Nightmares All The Way Down (2024) and starring in Hemorrhage (2024). He performed at numerous show choir concerts in high school and starred in previous theater productions. His most notable role was Papi in The Band’s Visit for the 2023 Shubert High School Theatre Festival on Broadway. He sincerely wishes you all the best!
Ari Laurie (She/They/Any) (Assistant Stage Manager) is a junior in the Theatre/Performance program with a minor in Global Black Studies. They’ve made appearances at Purchase as Nine/Na’Shay in A Black Play? (2023) and Haven in My Head is Spinning. (2023) Credits also include Lighting Designer/Props Manager/Accessibility Coordinator/Francis Flute in Midsummer Night’s Dream (2024). This is their debut as an Assistant Stage Manager and they are so excited to have this opportunity, and for everyone to see the show! She hopes her cast breaks a leg and would like to thank Frankie Joaquin Reyes for his patience and wisdom throughout the process.
Bella Davidson (she/her) (Social Media Manager) is a Sophomore Media Studies major with a Film minor. She is currently Social Media Manager as well for the student club, Purchase Christian Fellowship. Bella has also had her hand in a few short film productions serving as director, actress, and assistant director. Her most notable achievement was receiving the Spring 2024 Chris Konzelman College Writing award in the Humanities department. She wishes the best luck to the cast and crew!
Milani Dennis (She/They) (Lighting Designer/Operator) is a Freshman and a Biology major. Despite her major, on Campus, She is the operator for the Humanities Theater. Milani has been involved with the production of documentaries for HBO Canada and worked with personnel from Saturday Night Live. She has also worked on the Dance Harlem (2023) A performance featuring the AThomas Project, Clymove Dance, and the Von Howard Project.
Daniel Griffith (Pronouns) (Photographer/Videographer) My name is Daniel Griffith (he/him). I am a Junior PWSW major. I am a Theater kid at heart and been in my fair share of productions and projects. I am so excited to be the videographer and photographer and share my love for Theater and art.
Cast
Summer Carty (She/Her) (Mami) is a senior in Cinema and Television Studies with a minor in Film. This is their debut as an actress, but they have been involved in many projects, as a production assistant, and assistant director.
Orion Morgon (He/Him) (Papi) is a sophomore double majoring in Screenwriting/Playwriting and Art Management with a minor in Global Black Studies. This is his first time performing in a play, and he’s very excited. He enjoys writing short scripts in his free time and has recently become chair of senate at purchase.
Izzy Cardona (He/Him) (Izzy) is a Junior majoring in Theater and Performance with a minor in Mathematics/Computer Science. This will be his first show on campus as an actor, not as a stage crew member. He is stoked for this show and is happy to be a part of it.
Ethan Luce (He/Him) (ESL Teacher) is a junior majoring in Creative Writing. He previously performed on campus in Wayne (2023).
Antonio Salazar (He/Him) (Music Teacher) is a freshman majoring in Theatre and Performance. This will be their first production at Purchase! Their past on-stage credits in high school include Mr. Green in Clue!, Officer Barell in Urinetown, and The Escapologist in Matilda The Musical!
Akemis Ortiz (she/her) (Helene/Spanish Lady) is a senior majoring in Psychology. This will be her first time performing at Purchase College. She was born and raised in the Bronx, New York where she attended Bronx Theatre High School. She started her acting debut as Gretl Von Trapp in TheSound of Music (2014). She has starred in Into The Woods for the role of the Witch (2018). She also played Tituba in The Crucible (2019), and the narrator in Hercules (2018). She is honored to be cast in this production and hopes that you will enjoy the show!

Rayna Brown (She/Her) (Playwright/Producer/Rayna) is a Senior in Theater and Performance from The Bronx NY Her Rep includes Musical Theater (Annie, Ms. Hannigan) Student film HiltonGoode the Time (Simone) The Beauty of Risk (Kim/Maya) A Black Play (ensemble) Down with the Fourth wall (Performer) and many more. She is so excited to have her first produced play to go up and have her story be told and to let people into her love of theater she would like to thank the Cast and Crew for helping her bring her story to life. She likes to thank her family and friends for their support. She hopes people will enjoy, laugh, and relate to the play.

Theron Gearty (He/They) (Director) Theron Gearty is a playwriting and screenwriting major here at SUNY Purchase. He is twenty-one, and originally from New Jersey. He’s directed several productions, including Moby Dick, Beauty and the Beast, and several of his own works. He has been in several productions himself, including Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Comedy of Errors, and Legally Blonde. He is thrilled to be working on A Spanish Little Black Girl. He wants to thank the production team, who have put so much time into this show, the crew for their hard work, and the actors who’ve been working hard to produce something beautiful.
