Creative Team Profiles

Blake Savoy (he/him, lighting designer) is a fourth-year student from Maryland. He has worked as a lighting designer for many shows on campus. In his free time, Blake enjoys crocheting.

Cayd Barrera (they/them, scenic/props designer) is a fourth year BA theatre and performance student from Cape Cod, MA. They have worked in directing, production, performance, and design capacities for many shows on campus. They want to thank Jorin, Olivia, the cast and crew of Room For Growth, and Jorin’s trunk for all their hard work.

Celine Goris (she/her, “Sol”) is a senior Theater and Performance major with a Psychology minor here at Purchase. She has done three other shows here at Purchase; The Beauty of Risk (Fall 2022), Wayne (Spring 2023), and A Black Play (Spring 2023). She’s been performing since elementary school and now she’s looking forward to playing Sol in this amazing production.

Dana Freeman (she/her, sound designer) is a junior double major in Theater and Performance and English and Global Literatures with a minor in Playwriting. She is a third year transfer student who grew up internationally in Honduras, Armenia, Perú, Indonesia, and Germany. Purchase credits include: Crystal Clear (SM), Pie Day (PSM), She Kills Monsters (Sound Designer), As You Like It (ASM), Ordinary Days (Sound Designer), and most recently Make it Play (Actor/Playwright). She is thrilled to be a part of Room for Growth and would like to thank the lovely cast and crew for the opportunity.

Johnny Calabrese (he/him, composer) is a fourth-year studio composition major from Utica, New York. Music directing credits at Purchase include F*cking A and Crystal Clear – an original musical he composed. He has also done music direction for Fun Home through Brick 2 Theater Company. Some acting credits include Fiddler on the Roof (“Rabbi”), Legally Blonde (“Carlos”), and High School Musical (“Troy Bolton”). Many thanks to the cast/crew, his friends, and family for their endless love and support!

Jorin Clougherty (he/they, PSM) is a THP/Playwriting student co-producing Room for Growth as their senior project. Past purchase credits include Crystal Clear (SM), She Kills Monsters (SM), Ordinary Days (ASM), Proof (“Robert”), and As You Like It (Assistant Costumer). He has also worked onstage and backstage for a number of productions with the Ithaca Shakespeare Company and the LACS Shakespeare Company. Outside of rehearsal, Jorin enjoys cooking, gardening, and freestyle composting. He would like to thank the cast and crew for their hard work, patience, and compassion. Enjoy the show!

Nora El Gheur (they/them, visual artist) is a junior Painting and Drawing student who is very pleased to have artwork featured on stage for the first time in Room for Growth. Nora enjoys painting, drawing, teaching themselves new instruments, and their cat Luna.

Tionne Watson (she/her, “Angela”) is a Junior and a theater and performance major. She is excited to star in her second Purchase show as Angela in Room for Growth.

Playwright Profile

Olivia Rose Perrone (she/they) is a performer, theatre-maker, and writer in her final year at SUNY Purchase. She is pursuing a double major in the Theatre & Performance and Playwriting & Screenwriting programs, with a minor in Gender Studies. Olivia’s most notable stage credits include Into the Woods (“The Witch”), 9 to 5: The Musical (“Judy”), Mamma Mia! (“Donna”), Piñata (“Envy”), The Attic (Young Woman), Better Friends (“Kelly”), and The Dose (“Ruth”). She has also acted in several short films at Purchase including Self-Consumed (2022), Curse of Lila (2023), Enter the Siren’s Song (2023) and Downpour in the Sunshine State (2024). Room for Growth is the first of Olivia’s works that has been staged and produced. After Purchase, she aspires to perform, write, and direct for theatre, film, and television.

Director Profile

Alyssa Bernstein (she/they) is a senior playwriting and screenwriting major super excited to be directing Room for Growth. Previous Purchase credits include: Angels In America (Assistant Director), Ordinary Days (Assistant Director), Refrain (Director), and Behind Us Is Noise (Director). They’ve also worked with the Museum Of Chinese In America on multiple projects, most recently on Passage (Stage Manager). They enjoy sleeping in their free time and being entertainment for their cats. Shoutout to the incredible cast and crew for putting up with their nonsense, as well as Olivia for bringing them on and trusting them with this piece.
