Carlton Sargeant ’17

Carlton Sargeant ’17 is the associate director of event production at Historic Hudson Valley (HHV).

Historic Hudson Valley is widely known for its annual Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze event. This experience is “a breathtaking display of more than 7,000 illuminated jack o’ lanterns—all designed and hand-carved on site… .”

Historic Hudson Valley produces several seasonal immersive experiences and provides various educational programs. Sargeant’s work primarily focuses on the overall planning and logistics of HHV’s events.

A native of Westchester County, NY, Sargeant gained exposure to professional theater and live entertainment when he first interned for The Public Theater for Shakespeare in the Park. Leading into his sophomore year, he worked as an intern at Production Glue, where he further developed his passion for large-scale event planning and operations.

After graduating from Purchase, Sargeant worked on various on and off-Broadway productions and televised events as a freelance production assistant. In 2018, he accepted the position of Production Logistics Coordinator at the Public Theater, where he stayed until 2021.

Since then, he has worked on other live entertainment events like the NBA Allstar Weekend and VAX Live (Global Citizens Festival) as a Site Production Coordinator before joining HHV’s full-time staff.
