Lauren Walker ’15

Lauren F. Walker ’15 is currently attending the The David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University (Formerly Yale School of Drama), class of 2025.

She appeared in The Public Theater’s premiere of Erika Dickerson-Despenza’s Afro-surrealist play Cullad Wattah in 2021. 

Lauren made her Off-Broadway debut in MCC’s Charm.

Other credits include HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness, The Public’s Julius Caesar, and Midsummer: A Banquet, which was nominated for a 2020 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience.

Originally from Washington, DC, Walker started her acting journey when she was 14, studying theatre at Duke Ellington School of the Arts. While in high school, Walker had the opportunity to perform at The Kennedy Center with Charles Dutton in Shakespeare’s King Lear. ​

In addition to acting, Walker is dedicated to community building. She is the founder of Creators of Color Collective, an organization that creates space for artists of color to grow, collaborate and uplift each other by focusing on acting, audition preparation, and mental health for artists.

In between auditioning, rehearsals, and acting class, Walker can be found teaching kids the joy of dance, and uplifting black women with her business, Braids By Lo.
