James Youmans ’86

James Youmans ’86 is scenic designer whose work has been seen in theatres regionally and on and off Broadway, on television, in theme parks around the country, and in International touring shows. He also designs for the corporate and special event world.

He’s the owner of Youmans Designs, a firm that creates award-winning scenery for Broadway, live theatrical, and special events, as well as broadcast television studio sets, corporate events, and media environments.

Clients include Disney Theatrical, IBM, New York LIfe, Miller Coors, NBA, Universal Studios Hollywood, Hershey Park, ESPN Classic, and The Golf Channel.

In the theatre, Youmans has worked on shows from Broadway’s West Side Story and Gypsy with Patti LuPone to The Guthrie’s production of To Kill a Mockingbird.
