Leslie (Les) Mark Wertheim

Les Wertheim is currently an Adjunct Instructor of Mathematics at SUNY – Purchase.

Mr. Wertheim was previously Executive Vice President and Permanent Deputy to the Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank Americas CEO, chairing Regional Committees including: Risk, Business Pipeline, Sensitive Assets, Investments and Underwriting Committees. Mr. Wertheim was a senior member of multiple General Management Committees, including: Management Committee, Asset & Liability Management (‘ALM’), Portfolio Management, Internal Control and IT Steering and was President of CA Leasing Corp. In addition, he was responsible for Debt Optimization & Distribution (Syndications and Underwriting activities) and Distressed Asset functions.

Prior to assuming General Management responsibilities, Mr. Wertheim was responsible for establishing a comprehensive Portfolio and Balance Sheet Management function across Crédit Agricole-CIB Americas, which included Liquidity, ALM, Capital Management, as well as Portfolio Hedging, implementing several macro-hedge positions to protect the Bank’s portfolio.

Mr. Wertheim had also managed Credit Agricole’s Structured Finance Group, responsible for Securitization activities in North and South America, Lease Finance, Structured Tax and Municipal Finance, as well as providing corporate finance support to commercial officers.

Prior to joining Credit Agricole, Mr. Wertheim managed several groups, including: Project Finance, Corporate Finance / Advisory and Syndications at AMRO Bank, concluding as Chief Risk Officer in the Americas.

Mr. Wertheim began his career at Bank of America and Merrill Lynch, where he worked in several commercial (Client Coverage), Strategic Planning and Investment Banking positions.

Mr. Wertheim held a rank of Captain, U.S. ARMY- Corps of Engineers.

Mr. Wertheim received an MBA from Columbia University and BA from SUNY – Binghamton.
