Jesse Heffler ’09 Brings Fresh Vision to Rosendale Theater

As Managing Director of the Hudson Valley arts venue, Heffler brings to the role a diverse background in independent film and contemporary performance.

SUNY Purchase alum Jesse Heffler ’09 (Dramatic Writing) is managing director of The Rosendale Theatre Collective, a community-based playhouse steeped in history, featuring award-winning independent, classic and documentary films, as well as live theater, comedy and music.

Prior to RTC, he was Director of Programs and Operations at GARNER Arts Center in Rockland County, where he spearheaded efforts in fundraising, marketing, volunteer coordination and programming for arts and cultural events.

Heffler also served as manager of Media Arts Education at the City Parks Foundation in New York and manager of Artists and Programs at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College.

Calling the Rosendale Theatre, “a jewel in the crown of Ulster County’s cultural landscape,” Heffler is excited about his recent role and the theatre’s future.

“The audience here is adventurous, engaged, and invested in growth,” he says. “We will continue striving for excellence in creating one-of-a-kind, envelope-pushing theatre-going experiences.”
