Purchase Named Top 20 Best Values in the Nation

That’s according to The Fiske Guide to Colleges Best Buys of 2022.

Purchase College has been selected for inclusion in the 2022 edition of The Fiske Guide to Colleges Best Buys of 2022, which includes only twenty public and private colleges and universities.

Purchase is one of only 10 public colleges on the list, chosen by the editors for offering “outstanding educational value as determined by academic quality in relation to the net cost of attendance.”

According to the description in the 2022 guide, Purchase College is “One of the few public institutions that has a strong arts specialty. The visual and performing arts are signature programs, but many students also come to Purchase for a robust range of liberal arts offerings, from environmental studies and psychology to film and creative writing. Proximity to NYC enhances academic and social opportunities. Eclectic campus life offers funky traditions and an active music scene.”

“Deciding where to go to college is an important decision for students and families as it can impact their finances for decades,” says Shane Seaman, Interim Dean of Enrollment Management at Purchase College. “We’re proud that Purchase has been nationally recognized for the incredible value and quality it provides students along with its unique course offerings.”

The Fiske Guide to Colleges, which has been published for 38 years, provides a subjective and systematic look at colleges, giving readers the real personality of the institutions based on a wide range of subjects. Research, accompanied by testimonials from students, offers helpful and honest information about academic climates and courses.
