Dava Huesca ’19 (dance) is a dancer currently in residence at Chez Bushwick in Brooklyn and the first recipient of a new partnership between Springboard Danse Montréal and Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation. Huesca’s performance experience includes VIM VIGOR Dance Company, Staycee Pearl dance project, and with Rena Butler, Hannah Gardner, Sidra Bell, Maxine Doyle, Manuel Vigoulle, and Martha Graham Dance Company.
“Movers know that dance is HARD. Our body is our instrument and what we put on top of it can accentuate or exacerbate our perception of ourselves. For example, some people love pink tights and some people feel atrocious in pink tights (like me). I pick pictures where I can tell someone is undoubtedly in love with what they put on before class. The saying ‘when you look good, you feel good’ has never been more true, but it’s more about how YOU feel, not how the people around you feel about your outfit.”
