Stephen Ferri ’13
As a junior at Purchase majoring in the Theatre Design Technology program, at age 21, Ferri had already founded two of his own theatre companies—the Harrison Summer Theatre and the New Musical Theatre Series.
In 2012, Westchester Magazine listed Ferri among the “Top People to Watch.” Seven years later, the magazine again applauded Ferri’s accomplishments, highlighting him in a story titled “These 22 Under-30 Biz Superstars Are Taking Over Westchester — Meet our 2018 class of Westchester Wunderkinds.”
Ferri has worked on and off Broadway (as well as a long list of other metro and regional venues). He is a stage manager, producer, music director, orchestrator, keyboard player/programmer.
At 27, Ferri has built a long list of credits, including: music directing Regional Premieres of Heathers, Disney’s On the Record, Les Miserables, Dogfight, Little Mermaid, Color Purple, Edges, Bare, Avenue Q, Spring Awakening, Carrie & Next To Normal. He is the recipient of the NYMF Award for Excellence for “Outstanding Orchestration” for Foreverman; the Helen Hayes Theatre Award for “Achievement in Technical Production”; and a Pedro “Unsung Hero” Award.
As the Associate Producer/Resident Music Director for the White Plains Performing Arts Center, Ferri is not necessarily in the spotlight, but he is a strong force behind the scenes where he oversees productions from beginning to end.
