Iurillo Named to United Soccer Coaches Men’s Scholar All-East Region Team

Panther Soccer Standout Garners Academic Award

Anthony Iurillo ’18 put the finishing touches on his incredible four-year Panther career by being named to the United Soccer Coaches Men’s Scholar All-East Region Team.

Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Mo., United Soccer Coaches has grown into the world’s largest soccer coaches’ organization that serves members at every level of the game. According to the organization’s mission, they work every day to inspire coaches and ignite their passion for the game, so they pass it on to players and others in the soccer community.

United Soccer Coaches provides programs and services that enhance, encourage, and contribute to the development and recognition of soccer coaches, their players, and the game we love, they said in a statement.

Award winners have a 3.3 GPA or above. Iurillo (SR/Whitestone, NY), an economics major, sports a 3.45 GPA. He was named to the All-East Region 2nd Team.

This past season, the tri-captain guided Purchase to the postseason in his final campaign in Orange and Blue. The “iron man” defender logged every minute of every conference game on the season—one where the defense anchored the playoff-bound Panthers. Purchase recorded seven overtime games, including a first-round playoff matchup with CMSV that was decided in penalty kicks. Iurillo, a member of the 2014 championship team, was also named to the All-Skyline team as a freshman and senior.
