Members-Only ArtTrek to Brooklyn
NOTE: ArtTrek tickets are non-refundable.
ENGELS THE ARTIST STUDIO VISIT AND EXHIBITION PREVIEW
Our first stop in Brooklyn will be a visit with Engels the Artist to preview some of the works that will be in his monographic exhibition “Art Got into Me”: The Work of Engels the Artist debuting at the Neuberger in October. Engels will also be our artist-in-residence this fall.
Born and raised in Haiti but living in Brooklyn for the past thirty years, Engels will open his studio and home to us as he discusses his art and his approach to the canvas as a limited space that requires subversion, inversion, expansion, or containment.
PRIVATE, CURATOR-LED TOUR OF BEYOND THE STREETS
After lunch, we will make our way to Twenty Five Kent, a new creative office building located on the waterfront in North Williamsburg for an in-depth, curator-led tour of Beyond the Streets. With artwork by over 150 artists from around the world showcased in this 100,000 square foot space, the exhibition explores the collective urgency of using the street as a canvas for expression and celebrates society’s most pervasive mark makers and rule breakers with unprecedented purpose and scale.
The tour will conclude with wine and cheese and some time to explore the museum shop before boarding the bus back to Purchase.
This ArtTrek has a maximum number of 20 persons. Register yourself and one guest at the appropriate membership level. ArtTrek tickets are non-refundable.
