Collegiate Alliance for Student Success and Prevention Meeting

3:00pm  — 4:00pm

Humanities Building Room 1051
CASSAP is a campus community coalition aimed at reducing negative outcomes of alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) use with special focus on maintaining high student success and the pro-social integrity of the college student experience. All are welcome to join!

We are very excited to announce that Colton Grace from Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM) will present to the coalition about how proposed marijuana legislation will affect our campuses and the community. Colton will be available for questions after the presentation.

The four main objectives from SAM are:

1. To inform public policy with the science of today’s marijuana.

2. To have honest conversation about reducing the unintended consequences of current marijuana policies, such as lifelong stigma due to arrest.

3. To prevent the establishment of Big Marijuana that would market marijuana to children — and to prevent Big Tobacco from taking over Big Marijuana. Those are the very likely results of legalization.

4. To promote research on marijuana in order to obtain FDA-approved, pharmacy-dispensed, cannabis-based medications.

Please note, we will be meeting in the Humanities Building Room 1051 this meeting, not the Wellness Center. To access the Humanities Building, please park in Central 2 lot and walk towards the Child Care Center (playground is visible outside the building), the next building after the Childcare Center is the Humanities Building.

Registration for this event is now closed.
