Career Counselors work with students to help them identify and investigate career options and develop job search goals and strategies. Our counselors and students work together to assist students with determining their interests, skills and job-related values, and set career goals. Career Counselors help students learn about themselves in relation to career interests. Your Career Counselor may suggest you take what's called an "Interest Survey" to begin to identify career fields that you might find satisfying. Knowing yourself is the first step necessary in finding a satisfying career.
They also can help students prepare targeted resumes and cover letters, help prepare for interviews and develop a job or internship search strategy. Career counselor's can also assist students with graduate school preparation. Students are encouraged to begin utilizing the career center services as early as their freshman year.
To set up a meeting with a career counselor, please stop by SSB 214 or call 251-6370.
