Director of Career Development
B.A. SUNY Stony Brook; M.S.Ed.Guidance and Counseling, Hunter College - CUNY          
With over 25 years experience in career development in both higher education and not-for profit organizations, Wendy’s leadership has brought many new career development programs and initiatives to the Purchase College campus.  She oversaw the renewal and development of a progressive and forward-thinking Career Development Center. Through these specialized services and resources for students and alumni across disciplines, students are highly engaged in their career planning and professional development.  Wendy previously served as Associate Director of the Office of Career Services at New York University. Prior to her experience with college students, she worked as career consultant and pre-vocational trainer for educational programs in art and design, job and career centers, high schools, and various not-for-profit organizations.  She is an active member in the Purchase College Community and has served on important committees including Strategic Planning, Middle States, and Student Engagement & Success Committees.  Additionally, Wendy teaches the Career Planning & Decision Making course to undeclared students.
Did you know... Wendy has a flare for home decorating, a passion international travel, and a love of fall nature hikes. While she enjoys watercolor painting, but would rather watch her husband/magnificent wildlife artist create stunning paintings to adorn her home even more. Wendy’s 10th grader has already declared his career aspirations in medicine.

Assistant Director - Employer/Technical Services
B.A. SUNY Albany, M.S Ed, Counseling and Student Personnel Services, Fordham University
Jessica has an extensive background in higher education as a counselor and career development professional, as well as managing employer relations.  As a career counselor she is well practiced in event coordination, career programming and addressing the career needs of undergraduates, graduate students and alumni.   Jessica oversees the Career Development Center’s employer outreach, as well as the center’s technology, which includes managing the Purchase JobScore system.  She is a member of the Purchase College Wellness Committee and also co-teaches the Career Planning & Decision Making course at Purchase College.  In addition, Jessica is a Certified School Counselor (NJ).   
Did you know... Jessica loves to sing (but currently her singing is mostly in the privacy of her car), speaks in movie quotes way too often and thinks her son is the funniest person.

Assistant Director - Internship/Diversity Programs

B.S. Emerson College; M.A. Community Counseling, Fairfield University
As a Nationally Certified and State Licensed Counselor, Tara’s background includes experience with university and high school populations as well as non-profit organizations. Tara oversees the academic internship program and diversity programming and services for the Career Development Center. Tara is recognized as a Master Career Counselor through the National Career Development Association. She is a member of the Purchase College Diversity Committee and co-teaches teaches the Career Planning & Decision Making course.
Did you know... Raised in an artistic family, the arts have always been a big part of Tara’s life. Tara enjoys painting and drawing. She also expresses her creativity through baking and cupcake decorating with her daughter.

Alumni Career Counselor

B.A. Hitotsubashi University; M.S. Mental Health Counseling, Walden University
Nationally Certified & NY State Licensed Mental Health Counselor; MBTI® Certified Practitioner
Masako has extensive experience in career consultation. She has worked as a recruiter and a hiring manager in corporate settings in the US and Japan.  Her experience ranges from work authorization to career development issues within various industries.  Masako holds a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and is a NY State Licensed Mental Health Counselor.  Her long-term goal is to pursue her PhD in Counselor Supervision.
Did you know... Masako has been a foster parent of orphaned animals in the orphanage in Kenya.  So far, she adopted 3 elephants, 1 dolphin, and 1 lion.  One day she wants to visit the orphanage. She also loves shows on stage.  She has seen at least 600 on/off/off-off Broadway shows in the US!

Office Manager

B.A. Purchase College - SUNY
Rachael serves as the Office Manager for the Career Development Center.  With over 18 years experience working within a College environment including SUNY Maritime College. Rachael assists with office administration and operations, responding to employer inquiries, managing credential files, facilitating student registration on Purchase JobScore, and processing academic internships for students.  Rachael's college background includes coursework in chemical engineering from CCNY and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purchase College.
Did you know...  Christmas baking is Rachael's passion, she is #minimom throughout her household and she loves to knit and crochet (but don’t ask her to make something for you.)

Juliann KingJuliann1.jpg
Graduate Intern
B.A. St. Johns University
Juliann graduated from St. John's University with a Bachelor's Degree is Psychology and a minor in Sociology.  While receiving her undergraduate degree, Juliann assisted with a number of research projects. In 2013, she presented the findings of a child bereavement study at the Ronald E. McNair Scholars' National Conference in Wisconsin. She in currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Fordham University, Lincoln Center. In her free time, Juliann enjoys fitness, reading, and baking.
