    Women Against Abortion:

Andrea Dworkin on Reproductive Freedom and Right-Wing Women

This lecture will explore abortion politics, focusing on Andrea Dworkin’s Right-Wing Women to interrogate the role of women in paving the way for the Supreme Court overruling of Roe v. Wade. Dr. Owen will explore antifeminism and the theory that right-wing women enter a “patriarchal bargain” that sacrifices their freedom for the promise of protection from patriarchal violence. She considers racial and class dynamics, along with second-wave feminist views of reproductive freedom.
