first year initiative

When approximately 70% of your time is spent outside of the classroom, there is a need to find things to do. When potential employers demand candidates that offer more than just a college degree but also tangible leadership and involvement experiences, there is a need to maximize this time outside of the classroom. The focus of this leadership initiative is to assist first year students with the challenging transition to college by introducing them to the skills that add dimension to their character, strengthen their marketability for jobs and allow them to “stand out” as leaders by connecting them with influential campus resources and mentors.
