Haina Just-Michael

Haina has been a communications specialist for over 35 years. She was Director of Broadcasting at the American Jewish Committee and has held communications positions at the Israeli Consulate in New York, Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, and The Tannenbaum Foundation. In 1991 she founded her own freelance media and communications organization, the JustMedia Group, Inc., which she still operates today. She served for almost ten years on the Board of Trustees at the New Rochelle Public Library, including the role of President. Haina has served on many Boards including the Hillels of Westchester, the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center, the American Friends of Magen David Adom, The Forward Newspaper Foundation, the New Rochelle League of Women Voters, New Rochelle’s 325th Anniversary Committee, the Interreligious Council of New Rochelle, and New Rochelle’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative. Haina has been involved with many political campaigns, including her own run for the Westchester County Board of Legislators. She is proud to be married to Bernard Michael, who has been real estate attorney at Weill, Gotshal & Manges and Shea & Gould, as well as a partner at Proskauer Rose LLP. Mr. Michael started his own firm in 2006. He is currently a partner at the AWH Partners hotel management company and is serving as the CEO of the Center for Jewish History in New York City.

Haina and Bernie have three daughters, a son-in-law, and a grandson. All are accomplished in a variety of fields including teaching, nursing, business operations, and nonprofit development.
