Huntt, Erkan Collect All-Skyline Conference Nods

Huntt named to All-Skyline Second Team; Erkan Collects All-Sportsmanship Nod

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Purchase College seniors Jeremiah Huntt and Ben Erkan were named to the All-Skyline Conference Men’s Volleyball Team, it was announced Monday.

Huntt (Bronx, NY) claimed a spot on the All-Second Team after leading the Panthers in points (261.5), kills (223), points-per-set (3.63), kill-per-set (3.10), aces (33) and digs (182).

For the season, Huntt recorded 10 games with double-digit kills, including a season-high 24 during a win over Mount Saint Vincent on March 19th. He started all 22 matches as a senior and played in all 72 sets.

It was the second time in the hitter’s career that he was named to the All-Skyline Conference Second Team, as Huntt earned the same honor as a freshman back in 2019.

No awards were given in 2020 following the cancellation of the season due to Covid-19, and Purchase did not field a men’s volleyball team in 2021.

Huntt was also named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year in 2019, when he helped lead the Panthers to their first-ever title game appearance. The Bronx native is scheduled to graduate next month as one of the most accomplished men’s volleyball players in team history.

Erkan (Bellport, NY) was also recognized by the Skyline Conference for his 2022 campaign, as he was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

The All-Sportsmanship Team is comprised of players who are well-respected on their team and throughout the conference, and who show a great deal of respect for the sport and opponents in general.

Erkan, who was participating in his first season with the men’s volleyball team, finished with 32 digs, 26 points, 13 kills, nine aces and seven blocks over 18 matches.

The senior is set to graduate next month with the rare feat of being a four-sport student-athlete at Purchase, as he competed with the golf, lacrosse, swim and volleyball teams during the 2021-22 season.
