High School Readiness Workshop with Albert Leonard Middle School & Isaac E. Young Middle School

Albert Leonard Middle School and Isaac E. Young Middle School participated in a high school readiness workshop at SUNY Purchase College. Students were given the opportunity to anonymously disclose their fears, concerns, and what they look forward to for high school in a safe and open environment. This experienced eased a lot of the nerves and anxiety students had for their transition to high school. It was eye opening to hear what myths middle schoolers believed about high school. This experience would be beneficial to any middle school student getting ready to transition to high school and are unsure of the resources that will be available to them.
