He has also had experience on Broadway working as an assistant to Ken Posner on two plays Merchant of Venice at the Broadhurst Theatre and A Life in the Theatre at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. He has worked as an assistant lighting designer with other groups Off-Broadway and in New York and was as an assistant lighting designer for the Purchase Opera production of Die Zauberflote.
The event in which Mr. Solomon will participate is the seventh annual Lighting Portfolio Review, presented by Hemsley Lighting. The event includes panel discussions and informal question and answer sessions about professional life with some of the top lighting designers, artistic directors and Broadway production electricians. The event honors the life of Gilbert V. Hemsley, Jr., and is dedicated to providing opportunities to aid students in their transition to the professional world.
From 6-8 PM the students will display their work for the public at the School of American Ballet, 70 Lincoln Center (Rose Building), 5th floor.
