Lunafest Festival Features Women Filmmakers Mar. 14, 7-9 PM

Date Released: 3/2/2010

See award winning films by women at this Women's History Month program in the Humanities Theatre. Free

Lunafest at Purchase College will feature a screening of award winning films by women filmmakers on March 14 from 7-9 PM in the Humanities Theatre for Women’s History Month.  Admission $5 at the door; free to Purchase students.

The ten short films to be shown include stories of reflection and whimsy, hope and humor, grace and perseverance, all of them celebrating the stories by and about women.  In “Roz and Joshua” a woman separated from her son lives for the time they will be reunited.  In “Plastic” a young woman redefines herself before her first date.  “Monday Before Thanksgiving” shows that through a chance encounter a woman learns the life she is living is exactly what she wants.

Lunafest was established in 2000 by Luna, the makers of the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, to simultaneously promote women filmmakers, raise awareness for women’s issues and support worthy women’s non-profit organizations.  Luna bars will be served during the screenings.

The event was organized by Hannah Wolfson.
