Opening February 15, the exhibit continues through March 26 in the Visual Arts Building. Admission is free.  Hours are Monday-Friday 10 AM-5 PM or by appointment  914-251-6750.

Danielle Tegeder, a 1994 BFA Purchase alumna is currently represented by Priska C. Juschka Fine Art in New York.

In this exhibition Ms. Tegeder presents animated drawings inspired from the composed and interconnected conceptual spaces of her drawings and paintings on paper. Through a vocabulary of geometric and abstract forms, borrowed from modernist sources, she continues to expand the perimeters of drawing as a medium and a source. Tegeder presents five new animations inspired by the original drawings also in the exhibition.  These new experiments in drawing activate the abstract landscapes of her drawings and provide a new space for modernist discourse in contemporary media practices and techniques.

A native of Peekskill, NY, she currently lives and works in NY.  After graduating from Purchase she received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Recent exhibitions have included: the 183rd Annual Exhibition of Contemporary Art at the National Academy of Design in New York; Nature Interrupted at the Chelsea Art Museum, NY; Art on Paper at the Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensborough, NC; and Mapping the Self, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Il.

Tegeder has been recognized with numerous grants and residencies from foundations such as the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, Yaddo Foundation Residency, the Elizabeth Foundation, Lower East Side Print Fellowship Edition Award and the Marie Walsh Sharpe Fellowship.

Her works are in several collections, including the Permanent Drawings Collection of the Museum of Modern Art, NY; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, IL; and at the Weatherspoon Museum of Art, Greensboro, NC.
