Purchase Jazz Performs Live on WBGO Radio April 20

The Purchase Jazz Orchestra will play on the" Next Generation Jams Show" on WBGO radio 88.3 FM, April 20 from 2-3 PM
Professor Todd Coolman will conduct the Purchase Jazz Orchestra live on WBGO radio 88.3 FM on the Next Generation Jams Show on April 20 from 2-3 PM.
They will play selections from the Herbie Hancock 1960's Songbook as part of the station's Next Generation Festival during Jazz Appreciation Month. The station will promote the concert and the students on its web site and through Facebook and Twitter.
The performers include: Brandon Lewis, Grad student, Trumpet; Jeff Richardi, Grad Student, Tenor Saxophone; Derrick James, Senior, Alto Saxophone; Dave Saeva, Senior, Bass Trombone; Andy Roninson, Junior, Piano; Cameron Kayne, Junior, Bass; and David Frazier, Sophomore, Drums.
The Purchase Jazz Orchestra performs big band jazz from all eras and is composed of musicians from the distinguished School of the Arts Conservatory of Music. Todd Cool heads the JazzProgram and is a bassist who performs frequently with jazz luminaries James Moody, Ahmal Jamal, the Jon Faddis Orchestra and others.
The Jazz Program provides an intensive training experience for aspiring performers and features one of the finest performer educator faculties in the nation.
