Holiday Choral Concert Celebrates Bach and Handel Dec. 14

Conservatory of Music Chorus and Camerata perform in Purchase Bach Festival co-directed by Bradley Brookshire and David Recca.

 A joyful holiday Choral Concert will celebrate the music of Bach and Handel on December 14 in the Purchase College Conservatory of Music Recital Hall at 8 PM. Voluntary admission is $10.  Phone 914-251-6700.

 

The Chorus and Camerata will perform two Coronation Anthems by Handel (Zadok the Priest and Let thy Hand be Strengthened).  They will also present the spectacular Bach Cantata (Aeolus Appeased).

 

The Purchase College Chorus is a mixed ensemble of singers from across the campus who perform choral masterworks from the Renaissance to world premieres of 21st century compositions.

 

The Purchase College Camerata emphasizes baroque music and students perform baroque concertos and chamber music throughout the year.

 

The concert is co-directed by Bradley Brookshire and David Recca and is part of the Purchase Bach Festival, a series of student and faculty concerts to celebrate Bach and raise funds for Conservatory of Music scholarships.
