The Purchase Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro Michael Adelson, will commemorate the 200th anniversary of Haydn’s death by performing two Haydn Symphonies and a work by Koppel on November 20 at The Purchase College Performing Arts Center. The concert theme is “The Radical Wig” a reference to Haydn who was considered a musical radical in his day and the inventor of the symphony as we know it. The orchestra will perform Haydn’s Symphony no. 39 in g minor and Haydn’s Symphony no. 103 in E-flat major “Drumroll.”
