Jon Faddis Orchestra's First Appearance at Blue Note

When the Jon Faddis Jazz Orchestra of New York makes its debut at the Blue Note from Oct-15-18, three Purchase College faculty members and three alums will be on stage performing nightly sets at 8 PM and 10:30 PM.

This is the orchestra’s first appearance at the Blue Note. It is the successor to the acclaimed Carnegie Hall Jazz Band and has performed at Newport, the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, at Purchase College, and many other venues.

Joining Faddis are faculty members Mark Vinci and Ralph Lalama on saxophone, John Fedchock on trombone, and Todd Coolman on bass. Alums Max Darche on trumpet, and Andrew Gould and Xavier Perez will play saxophone.

The concerts will be recorded on Thursday and Sunday for a possible future DVD.
