Purchase College will host 325 high school seniors participating in the 8th annual Westchester-Rockland Junior Science and Humanities Symposium on Saturday, February 7 from 8 AM to 3:30 PM in the Natural Sciences Building.
The event is the culmination of three years of research. The students will be presenting the results of three years of research projects they completed through a Regents course organized by their high schools.
A panel of over 50 volunteer judges will review their oral presentations and poster sessions. An awards luncheon will take place at 3 PM and the winners will move on to compete in an upstate regional contest.
Participating Rockland and Westchester, NY high schools include: Briarcliff Manor High School; Byram Hills High School, Armonk; White Plains High School; Blindbrook High School, Ryebrook; Harrison High School; Mamaroneck High School; Irvington, High School; Eastchester High School; Edgemont High School, Scarsdale; Fox Lane High School, Bedford; Horace Greeley High School, Chappaqua; John Jay High School, Cross River; Lakeland High School, Katonah; Pelham Memorial High School; Scarsdale High School; Walter Panas High School, Cortlandt Manor; Dobbs Ferry High School; Nanuet Senior High School; Ossining High School; Sleepy Hollow High School, Tarrytown; Ursuline High School, New Rochelle; Yorktown High School; Suffern High School; and Somers High School.
