Louis Bankston, an economics major at Purchase College, will receive a scholarship from the National Black MBA Association's Westchester/Greater Connecticut Chapter at the annual dinner on Saturday, February 28, at the Inn at Longshore in Westport, CT.
He is among the seventeen students who will be honored that evening.
Mr. Bankston was selected for his academic achievements (3.3 GPA), his leadership skills, and his participation in community service projects.
The organization awards scholarships annually to high school, college, and MBA students. Louis was among nine students selected to receive the $1,000 scholarship.
The National Black MBA Association leads in the creation of educational opportunities and economic growth for African-Americans. Established in 1970, the Association is dedicated to developing partnerships that result in the creation of intellectual and economic wealth within the black community. Programs include mentoring high school students, workshops on entrepreneurship, leadership, and career and lifestyle programs.
