Shemeen Abbas Shares Expertise With "Voice of America" Viewers

While attending the Middle Eastern Studies Association Conference in Washington, DC recently, Professor Shemeem Abbas was interviewed by the "Voice of America" for a broadcast to be aired in South Asia and the Middle East through GEO Television.  Her 40-minute interview touched on her work in Sufism and the political significance of the female voice in that tradition and in Islam.  She will receive a DVD of the interview for the college.
