Sculptor Kathy Butterly will be speaking at Purchase College on November 19 at 6:30pm in room 1016 of the Visual Arts Building
Butterly is known for whimsical works that have an underlying depth. Her tiny clay forms mimic aspects of the human body. She attaches appendages and with great formal precision and imagination, decorates the surfaces with bold colorful glazes. Butterly's work has been featured at the Museum of Modern Art, The American Craft Museum, The Carnegie Museum, and the National Museum of American Art.
The Visiting Artist Talks, sponsored by the School of Art+Design, bring contemporary designers to the College to discuss their work and provide insight into the making of contemporary art.
Purchase College is located at 735 Anderson Hill Road, Purchase, NY.
